Kent Searight - Providing custom software solutions for success

A Little Background

I built my first FileMaker Pro database program in 1997 while working as a cost estimator for a commercial offset printing company in Beaverton, Oregon. I had no intention of making a career out of database development at the time - I simply wanted a more reliable and efficient way of gathering information that I needed for doing my job. Upon completion of my first program I realized three things.

  • Custom database programs can give a company a huge return on the investment by providing a clear and competitive edge over its competition.

  • When a good user interface is incorporated into the design, even people who wouldn't be considered "computer people" can effectively use and enjoy the program.

  • Comprehending a company's needs and developing databases to meet those exact needs was something I really enjoyed doing and had a talent for doing.

My Personal Creed

  • Always behave in an honest and honorable manner, regardless of whether anyone is watching or will ever know what I've done.

  • Strive to create win-win situations whenever possible.

  • Make a positive difference in the lives of others by setting the example.

  • Humbly remember the poor and destitute I’ve encountered in my travels and be thankful that by mere luck of the draw I was not born with their fate.

  • Remain open to new ideas and new philosophies, and never rush to judgement.
